If you are easily offended do not continue. Instead go here.
For some reason Facebook absorbs these trends to raise awareness for diseases or poverty or what have you; which is great, honestly. Let the world know about people/animals/charities that need prayers/money/shelter/healing. What I do not get are the trends that have girls posting statuses about where they left their purse because for some reason that connects to Breast Cancer. You know what I am talking about? We let that one slide BUT IT HAS ESCALATED TO SOMETHING ELSE.
Out of nowhere there is this sudden trend to post a selfie (photo of yourself) without makeup or your hair done.
Please let that soak in. Please.
Selfie with no makeup/hair done raises awareness for cancer. For Cancer. Cancer.
HOWHOWHOWHOWHOW does this raise awareness/money. First off, I am 99.9% sure that those who are on social media are already aware of cancer. If not, there is google.
You posing for "likes" on Facebook will never in a million years help/cure/raise even more awareness for cancer. Ever. I am usually all about "to each their own" and could not care less what cha do, but seriously this is a tad bit ridiculous. And I wish I was sorry for those who have posted these types of photos/statues, but I am not. I am sure your heart is in it for the right reasons, but come onnnnn.
I have had loved ones pass from cancer or know others battling it. Your one picture is not going to make them feel better, comfort their family, or magically find the cure for cancer. If you really want to raise awareness then donate or become a doctor. Avoid the selfie just for the likes, my friends. It's distasteful and honestly offensive to those battling the disease.
